We offer all users some tools to help you stay safe and feel protected on the Affinity platform.
It is easy to block another user or report a profile in Affinity. To block a user or report a profile start by hitting the menu traffic lights located at the top right-hand side of a profile screen. From there, you will be able to select either ‘block’ or ‘report’.
You can choose to use a private account in Affinity. To access this, you need to log into your profile and then choose ‘private’ in your settings. Doing this will mean that no other user can see your social feeds.
By default, you are set to ‘make me discoverable’ in your profile settings. If you turn this feature off, it will mean you cannot be found in the ‘discover’ feed. Note, you can still be found by other users if someone uses the search function. This allows your friends to find you even if you don’t want to be discovered in the main feed.
If you are experiencing any bugs or glitches in your feed, please contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible to sort it out.
If you think another user is impersonating you, you can submit a request for us to review by filling out this online support form. We will follow this up quickly when we receive your request and the required identification.
Affinity values the health and being of all users and exists to help people form better social connections and therefore live a more fulfilling life.
If you see any reason that a user may be in physical danger, please contact your nearest local law enforcement agency immediately.
If you are worried that a user is a threat of self-harm, you might want to begin by talking to the user and finding out their situation, reassuring them that they can get help and direct them to such help. This would include finding nearby assistance and support through professional counsellors and intervention lines such a Lifeline.
